In a profiled rod having two profiled shells which are connected via thermally-insulating connecting strips, the connecting strips are firmly clamped to the profiled shells via retaining webs, an inner surface of the retaining webs having concave curvature, and the outer surface, which comes into contact with it, of the connecting strip having convex curvature, and the curvature of the clamping surface of the retaining web being more pronounced than the curvature of the clamping surface on the connecting strip. Furthermore, an outer surface of a retaining web may have concave curvature for holding a compression roller for rolling the connecting strip in. Finally, another tool is proposed, by means of which two separated connecting strips are to be clamped in one operation.
