An analyser for the standard addition method has a sample measuring device, a central processing unit for determining, by computation, a calibration curve on the basis of the measured values delivered by the sample measuring device and in accordance with the standard substance content of the samples, and a cathode ray tube for representing the calibration curve in the form of a graphic representation in order to show a relationship between the standard substance content of the samples and the measured values. Of four quadrants of the graphical representation, only the first quadrant, in which the measured values are drawn in, are represented graphically on the screen of the cathode ray tube. The section of the calibration curve which is situated in the second quadrant is processed by the central processing unit, i.e. it is folded or rotated about the Y-axis of the graphical representation in order to be represented graphically in the first quadrant.
