Process for the production of a permselective anion exchanger membrane

To produce an anion exchanger membrane, solutions of poly(vinylbenzyl chloride) and poly(4-vinylpyridine) in methylene chloride or chloroform are mixed and applied thinly to a Teflon film. A crosslinking reaction proceeds spontaneously at room temperature and at atmospheric pressure. After the solvent has been evaporated, the finished anion exchanger membrane can be peeled off from the Teflon film.
