For the putting up of small dwellings, part of the inner and outer walls are erected to a low height on a suitable supporting surface, and at a height which is slightly greater than this, plates extending over the full area enclosed by the walls, are installed to act as shutters. These are of polyurethane or polyethylene foam reinforced with a network of metal, and a reinforced support plate is cast on these, the support plate being provided with fastenings for a pressure cylinder and a passage for the piston rod. The reinforced support is jacked up by the cylinder to the required height and plates of reinforced foam are fitted to act as shutters for the casting of the walls between them and the bonding of the concrete of the walls to the reinforced support plate. An ornamental outer wall may be provided and during casting the foam plates are held away from the outer wall by fastening which are removed when the concrete has partly set, whilst the foam plates remain. The technique dispenses with the need for highly skilled people and eliminates waiting time whilst floors and walls set. |
