<p>To transmit information from one apparatus (1) to another (6), a light guide (3) projects from the one apparatus to be inserted in a fitting passage (7) in the other so that coded light from the one apparatus is directed onto a receiver (10) in the other. The receiver is sealed off from the passage to maintain water-tightness. The passage and/or the guide are so adapted as to prevent stray light passing through the passage to fall on the receiver when the light guide has been withdrawn. <IMAGE></p> |
