A liquid distributor for a countercurrent column which has a large number of horizontal channels which are parallel to one another and open at the top and in whose vertical limbs a large number of orifices are provided which are side by side in a horizontal row and in each of which a wire bent in a U-shape is suspended, whose one vertical limb rests against the inner surface of the channel wall and whose other vertical limb rests against the outer surface of the channel wall and a wall which extends the channel wall downwards and whose lower end is divided into tongues, so that each tongue is underneath one of the wires; the walls of the channel possess, in the region of the upper ends of the tongues, orifices into each of which projects the lower end of one of the wires resting against the outer surface of the wall, which end is bent slightly towards the wall.
