The invention relates to a motor vehicle seat according to the preamble of Claim 1. The object of the invention is to provide a seat which can be easily matched to the individual length of the thigh and lower leg of the user. This object is achieved in that the seat shell is divided up into a front edge component and an adjoining component of the seat shell and that a device for pivoting the front edge component with respect to the other part of the seat shell can be pivoted about a pivot axis lying parallel to the front edge of the seat shell.
