To reduce the effort which must be expended and to avoid formation of a region of low pressure between the cork and the surface of the contents of the bottle, an air-permeable connection is created when the corkscrew is inserted into the cork. To ensure that the said air-permeable connection is made, the air guiding device may project above the start of the spiral of the corkscrew and/or a marking may ensure that the corkscrew is screwed in to the required depth. The opening of the air guiding device penetrating the cork may be arranged to the side and in a concealed manner, to prevent obstruction.
