<p>A chipper for producing wood chips having an orientation parallel to the fibers has a rotor (5) rotating in a drum (1) with two different types of tools which rotate with the rotor. The first type is a cutting tool consisting on elongated strips (6) which operate by rotating as a circular saw and which cut the wood into a plurality of parallel segments. The second type is a percussion tool consisting of hammers (2) which are arranged facing the strips (6) and which have a percussion motion during the rotation of the wood segments. The segments are thus vibrated and are ripped along their fibers. The fibers are bitten by the hammers (2) and separated into small pieces. </p> |
