PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display element whose color display quality is excellent by placing a color polarizing plate so as to have an axis of polarization vertically to an axis of polarization of a polarizing plate. CONSTITUTION:Axes of polarization 9 of color polarizing plates 7, 8 are placed so as to be parallel on the upper plate and the lower plate of a liquid crystal display element 6. Also, on the color polarizing plates 7, 8, axes of polarization 12 of polarizing plates 10, 11 are placed so as to be vertical to the axes of polarization 9 of the color polarizing plates 7, 8. When the polarizing plates 7, 8, 10 and 11 are stuck in this way, a dimension (c) extending from the end face of a liquid crystal display element 4 to the adjacent part of polarizing plates 2, 3 becomes only an error in a dimension (b) of sticking, and a problem of an accuracy error of a dimension (a) of a multicolor polarizing plate is solved. Since dimension accuracy is improved in this way, the color polarizing plate can be stuck to the upper plate and the lower plate, and it is possible to execute a color display whose display quality is better than a liquid crystal display element using the multicolor polarizing plate. |
