<p>PURPOSE:To enable prevention of a fracture in an optical fiber on account of tensile force by fixing not only the optical fiber but the tension member as well and receiving the tensile force acting on the optical fiber cable by the tension member. CONSTITUTION:The top end of an optical fiber 2 passed in a cylindrical body 5 is held by a ferrule 11, and a sleeve 7 is fixed in the end part of a tension member 3 inserted into the body 5. Since the sleeve 7 is fixed by a cap 6 so as not to be pulled out, the tensile force acting on an optical fiber cable can be received in the member 3 and therefore the fracture of the fiber 2 owing to the tensile force is surely prevented. The connector for connecting the optical fiber cables to each other consists of a pair of fixing devices which are disposed with the top end faces to the ferrules 11 so as to face each other and are coupled by the connector body. The connector body is so arranged as to be detained to a clip 13 fitted onto the outside circumference of a body 12.</p> |
