PURPOSE:To enable actual measurement of changes in the electric field state of a high voltage equipment due to fouling and effect of other objects by measuring the electric field state depending on how chargeable powder particles evenly scattered on inner and outer surfaces of an equipment exist. CONSTITUTION:A powder particles 1 formed by coating the perimeter of a nuclus such as lead or radioactive element with an insulator are scattered on inner and outer surfaces of an equipment to be loaded with electricity beforehand. When the equipment is loaded with electricity, the powder particles 1 evenly distributed when no electric field exists are charged and an electric field acts between the charged part of the equipment and the powder particles 1 so that the powder particles 1 move to a high electric field part where foreign matters 5 and 6 or a gap 7 exist. The density in the presence of the powder particles 1 is observed by visual inspection in the air or using a dry plate within a case, particularly when they have X ray or a radioactive element as nucleus. This facilitates the capture of the electric field state in a three-dimensional manner.
