PURPOSE:To obtain a prescribed radius of curvature in a short time by providing three roll stands as the bases of forming in providing the radius of curvature to a material to be formed in its longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:A point Q is fixed in equal distances from respective centers (n), (m) of the roll calibers of roll stands N, M on the line obtained by extending a pass line to the roll stand N side. The length Pm=Pn is continuously changeable by changing a slant angle of the stand N around the point Q set as a center; in this case, a material to be formed passes perpendicularly to the plane containing the upper and lower axes of the stand N, and the need for adjusting the positions of both axes in the draft direction is eliminated. Accordingly, the radius of curvature can be changed during rolling, and the adjusting operation for obtaining the prescribed radius of curvature can be finished in an extremely short time. |
