PURPOSE:To cool quickly, uniformly and easily a material to be treated without pollution by sinking said material in fluidized granular body having good heat conductivity. CONSTITUTION:A cooling material 4 consisting of granular bodies having good heat conductivity, such as steel balls or the like having about 0.2-2mm. is put into a cooling material chamber 3 partitioned from a fluid chamber 6 by a dispersion plate 2 in a cooling tank 1 constituted of a heat insulating material and a fluid such as air, water, steam or the like is fed, via the plate 2, from said chamber 6 into the cooling material chamber under a prescribed pressure to fluidize the materia 4 which is further agitated by agitating screw 5. Parts 8 to be heat-treated put into a tray 7 are lowered slowly into the fluidized material 4 until the parts are sunk therein and are then pulled up. Said parts 8 are cooled by repeating such operation. |
