PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition which gives brake parts reduced in the lowering of coefficient of friction caused by repeated use, prepared by compounding a fibrous substance, silicon phosphate, ZnO and other fillers and a resin binder. CONSTITUTION:10-70wt% fibrous substance with a diameter of 50mum or less and a length of 50mm. or less (e.g., a steel fiber), 0.1-10wt% of ZnO, 1-5wt% of silicon phosphate, 5-15wt% of an org. or inorg. filler (e.g., rubber modified cashew dust) and 5-20wt% resin binder (e.g., phenolic resin) are compounded to prepare a friction material molding composition. USE:This composition is used as an automobile brake member such as a brake shoe or a disc pad. |
