PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding contact material with superior wear resistance by adding specified amounts of In and one kind or more among Si, Zr, Bi, Ge and Ga to an alloy material having a specified composition consisting of Au, Pt, Ag, Cu and Ni without changing the ratio in the composition. CONSTITUTION:An alloy material having a composition consisting of, by weight, 69-71% Au, 4-6% Pt, 9-11% Ag, 13-15% Cu and 0.5-1.5% Ni is widely used as far as a sliding contact material. The sliding contact material made of the alloy material, however, has inferior wear resistance, is liable to produce powder owing to wear, and causes the generation of noise. To improve the wear resistance, to the alloy material are added 1-10wt% In and 0.5-3wt% one kind or more among Si, Zr, Bi, Ge and Ga without changing the ratio in the composition. |
