PURPOSE:To obtain high-precision indication and facilitate reading of data by indicating by numerical figures all digits excepting ones below the reference digit and indicating with quantities other than the numerical figure values below the reference digit. CONSTITUTION:A detector 1 is composed of main scale 2 installed apart with constant distances in an area of a length measuring unit allowing free relative motions, indexing scale 3, each 2, photo-diodes 4 positioned opposedly between them and photo-transistor 5. An indicating apparatus 21 includes the 1st data indicating unit 27 as a numerical figure indicating unit constructed with 7-segment indicating elements of each digit excepting the smallest digit, the 2nd data indicating unit 28 as a non-numerical indicating unit constructed with bar-graph indicating elements of the smallest digit and indicating unit 26 provided with a direction indicating unit 26 and driving circuits 23-25. |
