PURPOSE:To improve the stirring capacity for a molten steel by connecting the respective water-cooling passages segmented to the respective sections of the copper plates and backup frame and mold frame of a casting mold to the upper part of water feeding and discharging passages, and providing a space for installation of an electromagnetic device thereunder. CONSTITUTION:Water feeding and discharging passages 7a, 7b extending upward from an oscillation table 12 are provided to a mold frame 4, and an electromagnetic coil 8 and iron core frame 9 are integrally disposed in the lower space of the frame 4 and are bolted 16 to the frame 4 by means of a flange 5. A backup frame 3 enclosing the copper plate 2 of the casting mold is further enclosed with a cylindrical part 17 formed on the inside of the frame 4 to provide circumferentially continuous water-cooling passages 18, 19 between the member 17 and the frame 3 and between the frame 3 and the copper plate 2. Said passages are connected to the passages 7a, 7b. The substantial space for an electromagnetic device is thus obtd., by which the stirring capacity for the molten steel is improved and the assembly and maintenance of the device are facilitated.
