PURPOSE:To have a high speed tape winder for electric wires etc. by providing an intermediate roller midway of the tape transport path, and by increasing the tape tension in the portion, where strong wind is applied to owing to operation of the device. CONSTITUTION:Tape 8 from a tape pad 16 is twisted while passing through a hole 49 bored in a wind-breaking disc 35 and a guide roller 36 and drawn out by an intermediate roller 20 and pinch roller to make then reciprocation between a pair of guide rollers 38, 40 of a tension control arm and a pair of guide rollers 39, 41 of said disc 35, and thereafter the tape is wound on a core 11 upon passing through rollers 42, 43, 48. At this time, rotation of said intermediate roller 20 is adjusted so that the control arm 44 is situated in a constant position, and thus good winding on the core is accomplished with a comparatively low tension. Because of higher tension between the tape pad 16 and intermediate roller 20, the tape will be free from influence of possible strong wind owing to high- speed revolutions, that should together with the effect of said wind-breaking disc 35 ensure stabilization of high-speed tape traveling. Thus good tape winding can be performed.
