PURPOSE:To increase the contrast ratio of an image by sorting the density of the picture element on an X-ray film in accordance with the density class and allotting display patterns which can be easily identified visually to the picture elements having the same density class. CONSTITUTION:A light source 4 is irradiated to an X-ray film 3, and an image of transmitted light is converted into electric signals by an image sensor 5 for each picture element and with levels corresponding to the image density. This electric signal is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 7 via an amplifier and supplied to an electronic computer 8. Then the display patterns held in a prescribed external memory, etc. are read out and delivered in a visible form through a printer, a CRT, etc. so as to increase the difference of density among the classes to the picture elements sorted into the same class based on the classification after sliced by the density level. |
