PURPOSE:To shorten considerably a preheating time by providing annular electrodes near both end parts of a pair of heat roll and bringing the electrodes facing oppositely into contact with each other through a feeding brush in the fixing device which is so constituted that a supporting body holding a toner image passes between the heat rolls. CONSTITUTION:Pairs of the annular electrodes 9, 9a, 9b, and 9c consisting of a conductor such as a Cu alloy or the like are provided near both end parts on outside circumferential faces of resistance heating body units 8 and 8a at an interval slightly longer than a prescribed fixing width. When a voltage is impressed to a feeding brush 12, a current is flowed to layers 8 and 8a through individual electrodes because the feeding brush 12 is brought into contact with the electrodes 9, 9b, 9a, and 9c, and heat rolls 1 and 2 are heated together. Since the brush 12 is press-fixed to the individual electrodes through a spring 13, a biting action is caused by the rotation of rolls 1 and 2 to reduce a contact resistance, and thus, to improve the feeding. |
