860,382. Haymaking machines. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. March 29, 1957 [April 5, 1956], No. 23793/60. Divided out of 857,692. Class 6(3). A rake-wheel, for a haymaking machine of the oblique rake-wheel type, is rimless, and has a plurality of circumferential resilient tines extending from a central hub 31, each tine including a spoke-portion 41 connecting at its end with a loop 42 the free end of the loop being connected to a forwardly-extending foot-carrying portion 39, the loop of one tine passing around and supporting the spoke of a further tine. In Fig. 1, the spoke-portions extend substantially radially from a hub 31 to which they are secured by bolted segments 32. Right-angle bends 36 produce a series of portions 37 tangential to a circle formed by the outer ends of the spokes 41. The loops 42 are in planes perpendicular to the wheel-plane and terminate in portions 39 extending forwardly in the direction of motion A of the wheel, the feet 43 being bent backwardly relatively to this direction. In Fig. 2, the spoke-portions 51 extend tangentially to the hub 31 and the loops 55 are of figure-eight form and lie in the plane of the wheel, the portions 54A and feet 54 extending respectively forwardly and rearwardly.
