PURPOSE:To carry out easily semi-quantitative analysis of proteins, sugars, etc. in a sample body fluid or the like by utilizing the property of a synthetic paper made of polyolefin having acid and alkali resistance and no alcoholic OH group and impregnating respectively the paper with prescribed reagents. CONSTITUTION:By utilizing the property of a synthetic paper made from petroleum as a starting material having acid and alkali resistance and no alcoholic OH group, a test paper is prepared by impregnating the synthetic paper with a solution in which e.g. ''Coomassie Brilliant Blue G 250'' is dissolved in a solution consisting of a strong acidic buffer solution and a surface active agent which does not develop blue color by bringing into reaction with said dyestuff, and drying. When the intensity of blue coloring is obtained at the immersion of the test paper in the solution having a standard protein concentration, a semi- quantitative analysis of the protein concentration in a body fluid (urine, blood serum or the like) can be carried out by only immersing the paper. The semi- quentitative analysis of components in the body fluid such as sugars can also be carried out easily by the test paper made by impregnating the synthetic paper with concentrated sulfuric acid contg. phenol. |
