PURPOSE:To provide an insecticidal composition for applying to the water surface or in water of a paddy field, effective to the vermin of paddy rice field, such as Lissorhoptrus ocyzophilus KUSHEL, and containing a mixture of 0,0- diethyl 0-quinoxalin-2-yl phosphorothioate and a carbamate insecticide as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective insecticide contains a mixture of 0,0-diethyl 0- quinoxalin-2-yl phosphorothioate and a carbamate insecticide (preferably a mixture of 1pt.wt. of the above compound to about 0.1-5pts.wt., especially about 0.5-2pts.wt. of the carbamate insecticide) as an active component. The composition is applied in the form of granules by adding an adjuvant for agricultural chemicals. The content of the active compound in the agent is preferably 1- 20wt%, especially 2-10wt%. The carbamate insecticide is e.g. 0-cumenyl methylcarbamate, etc.
