Fire-stopping window unit comprising a first glazing 5 and a second glazing 6 separated by an air gap 4, characterised in that the first glazing is a hardened mechanically strong glass, mounted on a mounting made of a metallic profiled section, comprising a body 8 forming a brace and a glass clamp 9, the second glazing 6 being a fire-resistant glazing, applied against an insulating material 13 which is strong in compression and which is pressed against the said mounting, the said second glazing being clamped against this insulating material 13 by a metallic glass-clamp 15 pressing the glazing by means of beams 14 made in the same insulating material which is strong in compression and by means of screws 16 screwed into the said metallic mounting, the contour of the said second glazing being also insulated on its small side by strips 17, 18 made in this same said material, the said window unit being fastened, completely assembled, to a metallic frame 3 welded to the contour of an opening made in a metallic structure 1.
