PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which enables definite improvement in the resistance to heat and abrasion by easy ceramic coating by constituting so that a movable piston is mounted to a raw material feed pipe connecting to a furnace for producing a molten metal of a high temp. and a raw material is fed by the same. CONSTITUTION:A movable piston 4 is mounted in a feed pipe 3 connecting a junction hopper 5 and a preliminary reduction furnace 1 and is moved back and forth by an actuator 8 to open a feed valve 6 to feed the raw material 7 fed from the hopper 5 to the inside of the pipe 3 to the furnace 1 in a furnace for producing a molten metal which reduces preliminarily the raw material powder 7 contg. metallic oxide in the fluidized bed 2 of a high temp. in the furnace 1 and reduces the powder by melting. Since the powder feeder is constituted of said pipe 3 and piston 4, etc., the surface of the piston 4 and the inside wall of the pipe 3 in the forward and backward moving range thereof are easily coated with a ceramic, whereby the resistance to heat and abrasion is improved. |
