PURPOSE:To improve the performance of an optical pickup by moving up and down a laser diode with respect to a disk while rotating said diode by means of the mechanism of a spring, a screw, etc. CONSTITUTION:An SCOOP type pickup shown in a figure (a) contains an optical system including an objective lens, a collimator lens and an LD. In addition, an optical system revolving device 2, a disk 3 and a holding stand 4 are provided to the optical pickup. When the optical system is rotated by the device 2, the optical system moves up and down since a screw is cut to the system. Thus the revolutions and up/down movements can be carried out at a time. While another example shown in a figure (b) includes an electromagnet 1, an optical system containing a magnet at the upper part, a spiral spring 3, a disk 4 and a spring fixing unit 5. The system 2 is rotated by the spring 3 as the system 2 is vibrated up and down by the magnet 1. This system produces both revolutions and up/ down movements at a time. |
