PURPOSE:To attain the automatic turning with a reverse type tape recorder by providing an automatic tuning function which controls automatically the bias, level, etc. and an automatic inverting function which inverts a tape after detecting the leader tape. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with an automatic tuning device 6, a mechanical controller 7 which controls a tape driving mechanism 1 including a pinch roller, a capstan, etc., a tape termination detector including a timer circuit 9, etc. and an automatic inverting device 11 which inverts the tape traveling after detecting the leader tape. In addition, a tape drive controller 10 which can work by an external timer is provided to invert or stop the tape traveling when the tape termination is detected. Thus the tape traveling is inverted at the termination after a power supply is applied by the external timer at the reader tape part at the final stage of the forward direction side. Then automatic tuning is started at and after the forefront part of the magnetic tape surface of the backward side. As a result, the desired tuning is possible with no discontinuation of tape traveling even if the power supply is applied at any position. |
