摘要 PURPOSE:To achieve high speed mass production and saving energy by starting exhaust treatment at once at a temperature where the surface temperature of a bulb does not drop below a certain determined value soon after the opening end of a bulb and an end plate are heated and sealed together by glass frit. CONSTITUTION:A glass frit 5 made as a paste form of low melting point glass powder with a vehicle is applied to the expected fixing places of an internal tube 7 and a bulb 1 upon an end plate 4 surface, and the internal tube 7 and the bulb 1 are placed upon the glass frit 5. Then they are heated at 450-550 deg.C within a heating furnace, the glass frit 5 is melted, and solidified as being cooled gradually. The temperature of the bulb 1 at this time is maintained within a range so that the glass frit 5 may be solidified but is not below 150 deg.C. Next, the sealed bulb 1 is mounted on an exhaust device through an exhaust capillary tube 10, a dissolving activating treatment of an electron emission material applied upon an electrode 6 is performed while exhausting the inside of the bulb 1, and lastly mercury or inert gas of a predetermined quantity is sealed into the bulb 1 and subsequently the exhaust capillary tube 10 is sealed off.
