PURPOSE:To remove the scales remaining in surface flaws or comparatively deep recesses by treating them with the aids of the highly pressurized water of a specific pressure or steam injection, in removing the surface oxidized scales of a hot rolled stainless steel strip. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a material to be treated, treated by mechanical descaling, is pickled with an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid or an aq. solution of nitric-fluioric acid mixture, etc. before treating it by a >=35kg/cm<2> highly pressurized water or the injection of >=3kg/cm<2> high pressure steam. In this way, the oxidized scales remaining in the surface flaws or in the recesses produced in the mechanical descaling are effectively removed. |
