PURPOSE:To display the operation modes of the air conditioner clearly and to save the number of parts of the device by a method wherein the operation modes of the air conditioner are displayed by a flash lamp through an opening formed in an opeation display panel, by the operation of a slide switch. CONSTITUTION:The operation display panel 5 is made of a transparent material and characters other than those designating ''stop'' are printed on the display panel 5 in desired colors excluding black while the part of the panel 5 not occupied by the characters is painted black. In this case, the characters designating ''stop'' are painted black additionally. Thus, when a knob 6 of the slide switch 7 lies at the ''stop'' position, the opening 9 in the display panel 5 covers the characters designating ''stop'' and ''cooling'' and in this case, the flash lamp 12 is not lighted. However, when the knob 6 of the slide switch 7 moves to the ''cooling'' position, a shielding plate 8 slides to make only the characters designating ''stop'' lie within the opening 8 so that the flash lamp 12 is lighted. Further, when the knob 6 moves to the ''heating'' position, the characters designating ''heating'' are displayed due to the brightness of a lamp chamber 15 but the characters designating ''stop'' are not displayed clearly. Lastly, when the knob 6 moves to the ''heater ON'' position, the characters designating both ''heating'' and ''heating ON'' are displayed. |
