A debarking machine of annular rotor type comprises a stator (1) and a rotor (2) that has an opening (4) for the longitudinal feed of logs and to which a number of machining tools are connected. Each tool is actuated by a spring device that usually strives to hold the tool flexibly pressed against a log passing through the rotor in order to peel the bark from such. As necessary, the individual tools can move together in a direction outward from the log against the force of the spring devices. A ring element (18), which is mounted relative to the rotor and usually follows such during normal operation, is situated between the rotor (2) and the stator (1). Via a transmission (21), this ring element is connected to the drive shaft (23) of a pump (24) that is mounted on the rotor and always follows such. The stator (1) has a braking device (26) to reduce the speed of the ring element in relation to the rotor speed as necessary (suitably to zero) and then activate the pump (24) via the transmission so that this in turn transfers a force to the machining tool that overcomes the force exerted by the spring device and produces said oscillation of the tool in a direction outward from the rotor centre.<IMAGE> |
