A method for the automatic filling, sealing and labelling of bottles with inclined necks, especially plastic bottles, which have a round or oval body cross-section and whose necks are laterally flattened is, in order to simplify positioning and adjustment as the bottles pass through the filling, sealing and labelling station, characterised in that when the bottles have been positioned and the necks aligned so as to point forwards, a holding template travelling along with the bottles is placed upon them and this grips the bottles in the region of the flattened part of the neck. The holding template passes with the bottles through the filling and sealing station in mounted position, with its weight acting on the bottles and is lifted from the bottles and conveyed back to the template station on entry into a braking station, in which the bottles are separated before entry into the labelling station.
