The file is intended for removal of hard layers on the human foot. Emphasis is placed on the allround application of abrasive paper on a relatively large compact body having overall dimensions of 35/4/1.5 centimetres. This special shaping permits comfortable, pleasant, quick and efficient removal of all hard layers. The negative experiences found with previous methods are thereby largely eliminated. The abrasive paper can be individually selected, is easy to change and is protected against slipping by a ring, cap and rail. Noteworthy are two large abrasive areas and a small one expediently having rounded longitudinal edges, so that critical points can easily be reached. The abrasive paper is economical and can be used for a relatively long time. A self-test for one year revealed these positive facts. An even longer handle is very valuable for users with restricted mobility, the troublesome visit to a chiropodist is often superfluous, and it is also possible to file toe-nails. <IMAGE>
