A manual roller device for suitcases only offers the traveller genuine relief and pleasant independence if the rollers are not, as in the past, located in the rear corner of the case but are under the bottom of the case, where they support the whole weight of the case, so that the traveller needs to do no more than gently guide the rolling suitcase. Such a rolling suitcase can be guided through the town over uneven roads, the case being very easily steered through crowds of people. It also facilitates movement in vehicles, since the passenger with a rolling suitcase can walk not only beside it but also in its tracks, so that fellow passengers can pass easily in the narrow gangways. A further great benefit of the rolling suitcase is that previously time-consuming circumstances which arise before and after the journey, when registering the case, delivering "door to door" or, for example, undergoing customs inspection are eliminated. The rolling suitcase thus provides a new, pleasant sensation of travel.
