PURPOSE:To correct skew distortion produced between tracks by detecting the phase discontinuity of a video signal recorded by the 1st head group by means of the 2nd head group to control signal without any discontinuity based on the phase information. CONSTITUTION:Skew detecting heads 30, 31 are provided between magnetic heads 7, 8 and a step by one track pitch's length is given to the head 31 against other heads 7, 8, 30. In this case, the azimuth angle of the heads 30, 31 is matched respectively to the heads 7, 8. Thus, the heads 30, 31 are operated in the reproducing mode, the continuity of phase is detected and the phase of a horizontal synchronizing signal recorded by the information is adjusted in advance, then recorded on a tape. As a result, the phase of the horizontal synchronizing signal recorded by the heads 7, 8 does not cause any discontinuous part on the tape and the skew distortion produced between tracks is corrected. |
