A rectangular construction kit container or such a container module with four side walls and a bottom wall is provided, wherein there are provided on each outer surface of two adjacent side walls a dovetail-shaped wedge which extends in a direction generally perpendicular to the bottom wall, and on each outer surface of the other two adjacent side walls a dovetail-shaped slot which corresponds to the dovetail-shaped wedge of the opposite side wall. The dovetail-shaped wedges and the dovetail-shaped slots are shaped in such a way that sliding engagement of a dovetail-shaped wedge of one container module inside the dovetail-shaped slot of another container module is possible.
