PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition giving a coating film having excellent water resistance and flexibility, and useful for the coating of automobile, industrial machinery, steel furniture, electrical appliances, etc., by compounding a specific etherified amino resin consisting of melamine and benzoguanamine with a water-soluble and water-dispersible resin at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be prepared by compounding (A) 5-60pts.wt. of an alkyl-etherified amino resin obtained by the addition condensation reaction of (i) an amino compound composed of 10-50wt% of melamine and 90-50wt% of benzoquanamine with (ii) formaldehyde, followed by the etherification reaction with methanol, ethanol or propanol, wherein the amino resin having <=1.5 methylol groups per 1 triazine group and 1 triazine group per 1 molecule accounts for >=40% of the whole amino resin, with (B) 95-40pts.wt. of a water-soluble and water-dispersible resin.
