In a cleaning tunnel for packing containers, in particular for fish crates, a complete cleaning even of containers of different formats is to take place. For this purpose, there is provision for in each case at least one box-like housing, which is open towards the side of the conveyor, to be arranged lying one on top of the other in the tunnel or offset with respect to one another in the longitudinal direction of the tunnel, above and below a conveyor, in which housing a hollow body, for example a hollow bar, which is arranged parallel to the conveyor and connected to a rotary drive is mounted on a hollow shaft so as to rotate about a central axis which is perpendicular with respect to the conveying plane, to which shaft the high-pressure water connection is connected by means of a rotary bushing, each hollow body having in its outer region two nozzle pairs lying one opposite the other with different inwardly directed or outwardly directed pitch angles of the nozzles of a pair of nozzles, one of which additionally having a pitch angle in the direction of rotation and the other of which additionally having a pitch angle opposite the direction of rotation of the hollow body.
