A heat source (1) connected to a chimney (12) via a flue gas pipe (11) is provided with a closure element (15), a moisture sensor (18) arranged in the combustion chamber (2) of the heat source, and a control device (10) which, in dependence on the difference between the reference and actual values of the moisture in the stoppage pauses of the heat source, opens the closure element (15) when moisture is present in the combustion chamber at the conclusion of burning.
