PURPOSE:Residual oil is sprayed by jetting in a fluid bed granulator and solidified by cooling with air into granules to effect utilization of thermal energy and granulation of the residual oil in high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:Residual oil of high temperature such as the residue after petroleum processing or processing of coal liquefaction products, is sprayed by jetting through a perforated nozzle 3 on or into the fluid bed of the fluid bed granulator 1 and simultaneously cool air is sent by a blower 4 to the bottom of the granulator 1 to cool the jetted resudual oil into solid granules. EFFECT:Solid granules of residual oil are obtained in relatively uniform particle sizes, resulting in improvement in their storability, handleability and transportability.
