Process for the preparation of pure N-imidazolyl-tricyclohexyl tin, and compositions containing it

A process is described for the preparation of pure N-imidazolyl-tricyclohexyl tin by reacting tricyclohexyl tin hydroxide, or hexacyclohexyl-stannoxane, with at least equimolar amounts of imidazole. The reaction is carried out in the presence of an organic solvent at 35 to 160 DEG C, while continuously drawing off the water formed. This gives very good yields of a highly pure product which surpasses products which have been obtained by the prior art with regard to the insecticidal and acaricidal action.
