PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic emulsion having high sensitivity in a red wavelength region by incorporating specific two sensitizing dyes in combination into the silver halide photographic emulsion. CONSTITUTION:At least one sensitizing dye expressed by formula I and at least one sensitizing dye expressed by formula II are incorporated in combination into the silver halide photographic emulsion. In the formulas, R1 is an unsubstd. or substd. alkyl group, R2 is a sulfoalkyl group, sulfoaralkyl group, R3 is an alkyl group, W1, W2 are respectively an aralkyl group, alkoxy group, hydroxy group, R4 is an unsubstd. or substd. alkyl group, R5 is a sulfoalkyl group, sulfoaralkyl group, R6 is an alkyl group, W3, W4 are respectively an alkylene group. The total content of the compds. expressed by formula I and formula II is 0.01-10g by 1kg in terms of silver nitrate and the mixing ratio thereof is preferably 10:1-1:10. |
