PURPOSE:To provide a print protective member ensuring favorable luster and excellent folding resistance and blocking resistance, for a recorded image surface obtained by ink jet recording, ensure favorable luster and excellent folding resistance and blocking resistance, by laminating a transfer material comprising a specified butyral resin as a main constituent on a base. CONSTITUTION:A print protective member comprises a transfer material 102 releasably pro vided on the surface of a base 101. The base 101 is a paper, a cloth, a plastic film or the like, and a treating agent for imparting releasability such as a silicone resin is applied to the surface of the base 101. The transfer material 102 is constituted mainly of a butyral resin having an average polymerization degree of 150-900 and a degree of conversion to butyral of not less than 60. To produce a recorded image surface using the print protective member, the protective member is laminated on the recorded surface so that the transfer material side makes contact with an image, and the member is heated to melt the transfer material. Then, the base is released from the base, leaving the transfer material on the recorded image surface, whereby the objective recorded image surface can be obtained. In the surface of the recording paper to which the transfer material is thus transferred, the surface shape of the base is substantially maintained. Accordingly, by using a base having a desired surface roughness, it is possible to obtain a desired glossy surface on the surface of the recording paper. |
