PURPOSE:To obtain at a high productivity a printing base material such as an ink pad free from dripping of an ink or the like and capable of being easily adjusted in hardness, by a method wherein a thermoplastic elastomer is used as a main material, and is provided with an open microporous construction for containing an ink. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a thermoplastic elastomer (e.g., a polyether amide block copolymer) fluidized by heating and a micropore forming agent (e.g., sodium hydrogencarbonate, carbon diamide) a molded into a predetermined shape by a continuous molding method such as an extruding method or an injection molding method, followed by cooling to provide the elastomer with an open microporous construction for containing an ink, thereby producing the printing base material. |
