PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material excellent in heat sensitivity, high in color developing property, free from discoloration of a developed color image with time and enhanced in reliability of images, wherein a 6-hydroxy-2- naphthoic acid ester is used as a color developer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material utilizing a color developing reaction between a leuco dye, e.g., 3-(N-methyl-N-cyclohexylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran and a color developer, a 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid ester, e.g., ethyl 6- hydroxy-2-naphthoate or benzyl 6-hydroxy-2-naphtoate is used as the color developer. |
