PURPOSE:To recognize immediately the kind of error and to cope with the error almost the same processing time as the case of normal receiving by displaying a receiving data including error on a manuscript display device when a receiving error occurs, and displaying a dot matrix pattern displaying the generation of error while superimposing the pattern on the receiving data. CONSTITUTION:When received information has an error, a CPU 1 performs error processing by a program of an error processing section 4a. That is, contents of the error are checked, a prescribed address of an error pattern section 4-d in an ROM 4 is accessed according to contents of the error and the error pattern is generated. Then, the contents of error are written in an RAM 7 together with incoming information and displayed on a display 6 via a driver 5. The error dot pattern (a) is prepared and displayed while being superimposed on received data patterns a, b. Thus, the error dot patterns a, b, c are not mixed with the character patterns prepared by a terminal device and pure data are estimated easily from the pattern after superimposition.
