PURPOSE:To obtain a color cathode ray tube where color unbalance due to doming will never occur, by employing specific pitch of shadow mask holes while employing red system color in the center of phosphor material trio passed through single mask onto a screen. CONSTITUTION:In a color cathode ray tube, electron guns B, R, G are arranged in a row in the direction of X-axis. It is made such that closest holes exist in the direction of Y-axis where phosphor material is arranged such that the center beam will illuminate red phosphor material. Because of landing characteristic for discriminating three colors, a guard band is required and approximately in proportional to the hole pitch. Consequently the hole pitch is made shorter than 0.55. As a result, color unbalance due to doming is suppressed to produce a color cathode ray tube having excellent picture quality. |
