PURPOSE:To obtain a magnet having a large magnet energy product and superior magnet characteristics such as high saturation magnetization and a high Curie point by sintering an alloy contg. rare earth metals and Co represented by a specified formula under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:An alloy represented by a general formula (SmxPry)Co5 (where x is 0.5-0.7, y is 0.5-0.3 and x+y=1) is refined. The alloy is cast in a magnetic field, crushed, and sintered at 1,100-1,200 deg.C in a magnetic field. The sintered body may be annealed. A magnet having superior magnet characteristics such as high saturation magnetization and a high Curie point is obtd. |
