PURPOSE:To ensure corrosion resistance for a weld heat-affected zone close to a welded part by previously plating the weld heat-affected zone with a corrosion-resistant material such as Au to a specified thickness so as to prevent reduction of the corrosion resistance. CONSTITUTION:When austenitic stainless steel or the like is welded, the base metal 1 to be welded is previously plated with Au, Ni or an Ni-base material 4 to 10-200mum thickness within a range where the metal 1 is liable to undergo reduction of the corrosion resistance. The part 5 to be welded is then welded with a weld metal 2. The weld heat-effected zone 3 does not undergo reduction of the corrosion resistance due to the welding because of coating with the plated material 4 with high corrosion resistance.
